Fashion Hell

No.

Just…no.

Here’s an affirmative action program I can get behind: can we please get some scholarship programs in fashion schools and hiring quotas at design houses for straight men? Because this is getting ridiculous now. People who show up like this to work should be cockpunched and fired on the spot.

Here’s a sample of what you’ll see after the link:

UPDATE:

Radar Magazine has weighed in. As does the UK Telegraph, which also provided the following video:

Male Bonding

Like most male bonding this is incredibly fun, yet probably vaguely homoerotic at the same time.

God, I love being a man, along with all the dumb challenges that amuse us. That’s the beauty of manhood, just doing something simply because you want to know if you can. Fuck the danger, fuck whether it makes sense, fuck whether it has any tangible long term benefits…we just want to try it to see if we can do it. I think it’s more due to this natural drive and curiosity rather than sheer intellect or misogyny that so many inventions and innovations have been created by men: that love of challenge just for the sake of challenge. I think it’s hard for a woman to appreciate the risks these guys are taking with their testicles by doing these stunts.

UPDATE: Apparently this was just a viral marketing campaign for jeans.  Bastards.

Wish I Wrote This

Every now and then I come across something that I wish I wrote. This piece from Craiglist’s “Best Of” section is a perfect example. It’s called “Myths and Truths,” and I’ve reproduced it in full below. I’m sure a few people will call it jaded and cynical, and it probably is, but that in no way negates how astute and accurate it is:

Myths and Truths

Some rants and accumulated experience about women. Men in happy marriages or stable relationships don’t need to read this; neither do men who get laid every week (or even every month). The “truth” I’m putting out here is for all of those men who, like me, worship women and can’t figure out why they keep getting screwed over and dumped. The myths are things that I used to believe before I wised up.

MYTH: Women want love and affection. Women want to be treated well. If you treat a woman well, she’ll treat you well.
