Forgot to mention, winner of the commenter contest was Johnny Five. The criterion for choosing the winner was whichever non-spam came closest to being comment #1050 without going over. Johnny got comment #1049 and comment #1051. An added bonus was the fact that they were damn insightful comments too.

Also, talk about having the cards stacked against you. After consulting evolutionary theories, gene charts, probability tables, graphs and all manner of scientific testing and equations, I’ve conclusively determined that this child will has a .000037% chance of not turning out to be the biggest douchebag on earth. This simply must be the biggest concentration of douche genes in a pregnancy ever. We may be witnessing the birth of the messiah of douchedom if you will, something I’m fairly sure was mentioned in the book of Revelations as one of the signs that end times are nigh upon us.

Can’t go wrong with Guy Richie crime movies. But I don’t think that’s what you were asking about. To answer your question, it’s not really surprising that Madonna immediately answered all of the questions the interviewer asked regardless of whether they were directed at her. Uber-successful women are like this; we’ve all worked with or for them or seen them on TV. I’m sure he’s used to it by now, but based on how she said something about him being so serious, maybe it was grating on him a little during this interview This can sometimes work in your favor tho, as a good way to deal with an overbearing female co-worker is to simply dismiss her opinion or laugh at something she says. Having their opinions heard and validated is of utmost importance to them, even if they end up coming off like a precocious child (which they usually do). Power-women hate being dismissed more than anything else, and almost always pull the sexist card if you do it. “You’re such a man sometimes you know that?” Try it sometime.
I don’t want to be sexist tho. Dealing with overbearing male coworkers is a lot easier. Just call them out about it or ridicule them in front of a lot of people. Or plant drugs/kiddie porn in their desk. They hate that.
Either way I wanna see the movie. Was that Dre 3000? Sounded like him.
Reply to paullyRichie strikes me as barely being able to tolerate Madonna. It’s as if he expects her to jump in and blab her mouth off, he lets her, mocks her and despises her for it.
Smart move really, because it makes her look like the clueless one.
Notice how she is constantly looking at him, but he can barely bring himself to look at her.

Jeanne - It’s sooo interesting, isn’t it? It’s loaded with body language, so open to interpretation. That’s why I didn’t want to analyze it and influence the comments, I wanted to see if commenters could come up with observations I wasn’t able to. I can’t tell if she’s teasing him out of malice and disrespect to emasculate him or if she’s trying to get his approval and attention by teasing him the way a schoolgirl does. It may actually be combination of both.
Roissy - Given Madonna’s increasingly transparent phobia of aging, I think you may be right about her fear of Guy leaving her. Of course behavior like that is not the right way to get him to stay.
Reply to TI didn’t even know Madonna was married until I read this post and looked it up. She is over 10 years older than him, so she probably fears him leaving her. But I get the feeling there is little communication between them. She talks on and on and does not listen to him. He looks annoyed, but she just keeps on going. Good communication is one of the keys to relationships. They’re not even communicating behind the scenes to present a unified front.
The other key is compromise. From everything I read, it seems like Madonna wants all the power and none of the compromise, which is not going to work. She wants to adopt a bunch of kids a la Angelina, because she’s 49 and can’t have any more. A lot of men care about having their own biological children, but a lot of these power celebrity women seem to just want the genuine affection of a toddler… probably because everyone else around them are only nice to them because they’re rich and powerful.
Anyway, as far as couples go, it’s sometimes difficult to tell their private interactions from their public interactions. A girl can be very shy and demure in public when out with her man, but boss him around in private, or vice versa. I get the feeling Guy Richie kept her in line for a while privately, but got sick of her power-grabbing ways in public.
