I was planning to discuss this Mad Men article about why women love Don Draper, but Karol over at Alarming News did such a good, concise job at it I’ll just direct you over to her post instead.

Not active, but a great read.
The character is not all jerkass like the articles makes it sound. To quote from wikipedia:
”In the first episode of the Second Season (“For Those Who Think Young”), Draper is in an elevator listening to two younger men having a crude, sexual conversation about panties and their conquests. Draper is disgusted, and when an older woman enters the elevator, and they continue their graphic, sexual conversation, Draper tells the man twice to remove his hat (which up until the late 1960s, was a sign of respect when a woman was around). This man seems to be clueless, and Draper is forced to intervene, defending the woman’s “honor.” He removes the man’s hat himself, and then stuffs it on the man’s chest, thereby ending the men’s conversation and sparing the woman further embarrassment. The incident is an example of the unusually high regard (for the time) that Draper holds for women in his workplace.”
The protector in him personality wise probably adds a lot to his attractiveness.
Tony Soprano had his moments too. No one is all evil or good.

For most urban professional educated women (who created/wrote him in the first place) Don Draper’s alcoholism, infidelity, shady background, and so on are WHY he’s attractive. Just like Clinton’s philandering or John Edwards makes both “hot.”
It’s like the Tom Brady Sexual Harassment skit on SNL. Alpha guys, can do anything. Women just love them more. And make excuses.
Fascinating…apparently being FAT results in serious brain degeneration. I guess RooshV will like this story.
