You’re right on target with Heston and Bardot, as per usual. Heston had guts - marching with King when the rest of the pussy Hollywood establishment wanted nothing to do with Civil Rights, then supporting the NRA when that was just as uncool thirty years later - CH had convictions and was willing to act on them. Ditto Bardot - in fact, she might be even gutsier - at least Heston wasn’t going to get suicide-bombed for his stands. Lest hear it for REAL punks like them.

The biggest problem with real “punks” is that they get billed as straight up trainwrecks and end up berated because of being outside of the norm. It seems even less acceptable today than when punk music first garnered attention in the 1970s. If it gets media attention (Fallout Boy, Good Charlotte, etc.) it most certainly is pre-fabricated mainstream crap.
